National Joblink (NJL) is a not-for-profit Community focused service and Registered Training Organisation whose mission is to provide opportunities for people facing barriers to employment to learn new skills and gain hands-on experience. 

For the past 30 years, NJL has supported the communities of Queensland, Tasmania, South Australia and the Northern Territory.   

 In Cairns, NJL is the proud owners of Wild Thyme Restaurant, NJL Driving School and Time2Drive.

NJL SQW Program Initiatives 

Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) provides skills development, training and job opportunities to unemployed, disengaged or disadvantaged Queenslanders through a suite of targeted skills and training programs.

Fee-For-service Driving School

NJL Driving School was created to address a major barrier to employment – access to transport.     

Lessons are held in a relaxed environment with an Accredited Driving Instructor. 

NJL Driving School partners with community service organisations and offers discounted rates for not-for-profit groups.

Learner Driver Mentor Program

Time2Drive is managed and driven by National Joblink and our amazing Volunteer Mentors. 

Time2Drive Learner Driver Mentor Program offers safe, accessible driving opportunities for individuals of all ages in Cairns and Far North Queensland. We help those who face financial or support challenges to log driving hours and gain valuable experience.

Current statistics show that 41% of unemployed young Australians have no driver's licence. 

Helping our community means better access to employment, education, and health and gives people the freedom for a better life.


Wild Thyme Restaurant Cairns

Located in Cairns’ popular dining precinct, Wild Thyme is a restaurant with a difference, serving great food with flavours from across the globe while promoting social inclusion, connection, & cultural diversity through their social enterprise and training programs.   

With a focus on food and community, the team at Wild Thyme have a solid commitment to improving the lives of others by providing over 60 pre-prepared meals each week to charity organisations to feed those in need through their FoCo (Feeding our Community ourselves) Kitchen initiative.

Parent Pathways is a voluntary Australian Government initiative designed to empower parents and carers of young children by providing practical and financial support.

Our qualified and experienced mentors offer flexible and personalised advice while always advocating for your best interests. They will help you identify and accomplish your goals as a parent or carer.
