National Joblink (NJL) is a not-for-for profit youth service and Registered Training Organisation whose mission is to provide opportunities for people facing barriers to employment to learn new skills and gain hands on experience. For the past 30 years, NJL has supported the communities of Queensland, Tasmania, South Australia and the Northern Territory.  In Cairns, NJL are the proud owners of Wild Thyme, NJL Driving School and Time2Drive.

  • Located in Cairns’ popular dining precinct, Wild Thyme is a restaurant with a difference, serving great food with flavours from across the globe while promoting social inclusion, connection, & cultural diversity through their social enterprise and training programs.

    •  With a focus on food and community, the team at Wild Thyme have a strong commitment to improving the lives of others by providing over 60 pre-prepared meals each week to charity organisations to feed those in need through their FoCo (Feeding our Community ourselves) Kitchen initiative.

TIME2DRIVE 

LEARNER DRIVER MENTOR PROGRAM

    •  
Time2Drive  supports learner drivers who do not have access or financial means to a vehicle or supervising driver.The purpose of the program is to:
  •  
  • Learn safe driving skills, attitudes, and behaviours       
  • Enhance on road driving quality to exceed that required to pass your TMR practical exam (P test) 
  •  
  • Increase driving hours in line with Queensland Transport and Main Roads requirements 
  •  
  • Apply for exemptions from Logbook hours deemed necessary
  •  
  • Enhance Time management and communication skills 
  •  
  • Time2Drive is supported by a team of dedicated Volunteer Mentors providing the on-road driving time needed for learners to become a proficient driver.
